Korean Pair Deny Adekanola of MTN's Honour
Otunba Olushola Adekanola, famous taxman and golf philanthropist wouldclocks 51 on Saturday. And it would have been a better day for him ifhe has in his hand clenched Nigeria's ticked for the InternationalPairs tournament which he narrowly missed last Sunday.Himself and his partner Remi Olukoya finished in a second place andmissed the chance of becoming the first team to fly the nation's flagat the event. The event is the first in the series of the MTN's clubgolfer's tour.The two-day qualifier, which took place at the Ikoyi club, was thefirst of the MTN sponsored Club Golfers' Tour.Close to 200 players vied to pick the ticket to represent Nigeria inScotland and the Pair of James You and Kwom Kim made away with thehonour of flying Nigeria's flag. They returned 79 stableford points inall having returned 39 and 40 on the respective rounds.Their score was five points better than what the pair of OlusholaAdekanola and Remi Olukoya garnered at the 36 event. On their own theyshot 38 on the first day and sealed with 36 on the final day Sunday.The final of the event would final at St. Andrews in Scotland later in July.
