Unknown Nigerian Files for British Open Qualifier

Except that Adeola Macjob has been granted a wild card membership by the Professional Golfers Association of Nigeria (PGA of Nigeria) after the recent qualifying school it conducted in January Minna, then there is a fraud in the offing as an unknown golfer has entered the world third golf major and hoping to get away with whatever the intention may be.

Double checking at the Lagos secretariat of the PGA of Nigeria in Lagos, expectedly four of the five names that are drawn (as Nigerian entries) at the sixteen regional qualifying centers for the 2007 British Open were confirmed by the secretary of the association, Mike Alika.

Mike Alika, the PGA of Nigeria Secretary General of over twelve years said: "We are not aware of him and he is not a pro. And by extension I have not come across such name even as a category one player" he said.

If nothing is done, Adeola Macjob who has been drawn to tee-off at the Pleasington center at exactly 7:00 am local time could stir up reports in the mould of the 2001 open. Where a whooping "35 Nigerian pros" failing to show up for the qualifying round put the country's golf on the world spotlight for negative reasons.
